A man assaulted a 38-year-old individual in Queens on Monday, striking him in the head with the butt of a knife after an explosion on the train, according to law enforcement and sources.
This unfortunate incident occurred as the victim was nearing the 69th Avenue station in Woodside at around 1:40 a.m.
Officers reported that the assailant attacked Strafanger with the knife’s butt.
Despite being injured, the victim managed to exit the train at the next stop, which was 61st Avenue. Meanwhile, the attacker remained on board, seemingly unfazed, as stated by police.
This sudden act of violence left the victim with a head injury. Fortunately, he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
As of Monday evening, the suspect had yet to be apprehended.
