An inmate at a Wisconsin county jail is accused of destroying his cell’s sprinkler system and causing $1,500 in damage, according to a criminal complaint obtained at a Wisconsin county jail. fox 6.
Charles Virgil, 32, was charged with interfering with a fire alarm system and criminal damage to property after the March 1 incident inside the Waukesha County Jail.
Virgil was “angry about not being released,” according to the criminal complaint. Correctional officers claimed the man “ripped numerous pieces of toilet paper” and threw a blanket over a sprinkler system.
Prosecutors said water leaked from Virgil’s cell and took toilet paper with it into a nearby drain, which became clogged and flooded the area.

The incident knocked out the sprinkler system for about five hours Friday and caused an estimated $1,500 in damage, according to the complaint.

Virgil is in jail on a separate incident related to assault and resisting an officer, according to court records. His last court appearance was March 4, records show.
