Israeli Ambassador Calls for End to Gaza War

On Monday, Israeli Ambassador to the US, Mike Huckabee, urged for an end to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. In a post on X, he emphasized, “When Hamas thinks you’re doing a good job, you’re doing evil.”

Huckabee expressed his discontent regarding how Hamas blames Israel for the suffering of its own citizens, who have been harmed in the continuing violence sparked by a large-scale attack on October 7, 2023.

Additionally, various reports have surfaced, alleging that Israel is adopting a “starvation policy” towards Gaza, which has led to claims of hunger-related deaths. However, Fox News Digital has not been able to independently verify these claims.

Research Indicates Media’s Role in Amplifying Hamas’ Narrative

Hamas has also condemned statements regarding the deaths of more than 800 Palestinian civilians at the gates of US and Israel-controlled aid checkpoints, underscoring the harsh realities faced by those in Gaza.

On the other hand, the Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Saa replied on X, criticizing the notion that individuals held by Hamas are in the right position.

Recently, reports suggested that Israel and the US have been heavily active around aid distribution points since early May, even firing on civilians during aid delivery times. Israel has denied claims of hunger in Gaza, attributing the crisis to Hamas’s alleged monopolization of humanitarian aid, which they reportedly sell at inflated prices.

Gaza Aid Initiatives Underway

Since the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Fund initiated a new food aid distribution model in May, it has delivered millions of meals. Nonetheless, Israeli forces argue they are taking necessary actions, such as warning shots, to manage crowd control at these sites.

The United Nations has highlighted ongoing malnutrition and violence in Gaza, with Executive Director Antonio Guterres expressing concerns over the deteriorating situation. He emphasized the urgent need for peaceful solutions to prevent further harm to civilians.

Amid these discussions, Benny Gantz, a prominent figure in Israeli politics, reiterated that responsibility for civilian suffering lies with Hamas, calling attention to their control over resources.

Controversy Surrounds Humanitarian Conditions

Dr. Mohammed Absalmiya, director of a medical complex in Gaza, reported alarming incidents of child deaths attributed to malnutrition. Yet, Cobi Michael, a researcher from the National Security Institute, expressed skepticism about official reports linking deaths directly to starvation.

Michael noted the prevalence of stolen humanitarian aid being used by Hamas, raising questions about resource allocation in the region.

Despite these challenges, a report highlighted that Hamas is undergoing severe financial and operational challenges, struggling to sustain its activities.
