US military research center denies NJ drones are theirs

A military research center base commander in New Jersey told local media that the mysterious drone flying over the area was not theirs, but said they had confirmed the sighting.

“While the source and cause of these aircraft flying in our region remains unclear, we can confirm that they are not the result of Picatinny-related activity,” Lt. Col. Craig Bonham II said in a statement obtained by the military. stated in a news release. Daily records of Morristown.

Local media reported 11 confirmed sightings of Picatinny in the sky since Nov. 13. An additional seven reports may not be confirmed or may turn out to be planes, Bonham said.

Reports of large drones flying over various parts of the Garden State have increased in recent weeks, including near President-elect Trump's Bedminster golf course and military research facilities.

The Federal Aviation Administration first received reports of drone activity on Nov. 18 in Morris County, about three miles north of Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in Somerset County. Patch said drones have been seen nightly in some areas and are occasionally reported traveling in groups.

State officials say they are taking reports of mysterious drone sightings “seriously,” and Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy wrote on X on Thursday that there is “no known threat to the public” at this time.
