US offers a $20 million reward for information about Iran’s nuclear program

The U.S. is offering a reward of up to $20 million for information about Iran’s nuclear program.

The State Department’s Rewards for Justice program said people with information about the program, its assets or people connected to it can submit tips through Signal or its Tor-based tip line. Those who come forward may qualify for a reward and relocation, the agency said.

Officials are seeking details about nuclear scientists and staff, related technologies and capabilities, and the organizations and personnel involved. The department said the U.S. remains committed to stopping Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapons program.

The offer comes as President Donald Trump weighs whether to resume military strikes against Iran, while negotiations over its nuclear program continue.

Trump said Friday that Iran would never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, referring to earlier U.S. operations against the country’s nuclear facilities. He met with his national security team on Thursday to discuss possible renewed strikes, after previously saying he would wait until after the midterm elections.

Nov. 9 brings a new moon in the Middle East, leaving little or no moonlight—a condition that could favor military operations, senior U.S. officials said.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump said Washington would decide whether to resume the conflict. He questioned whether the U.S. should carry out further strikes to ensure Iran’s nuclear program was eliminated and could not be restarted.

“I would rather not destroy the rest of the country if possible, but maybe I will have to,” Trump said. “You’ll know soon enough.”

U.S. Central Command is completing preparations in case major operations in Iran resume, but has not received a new directive from Washington, according to reports citing a U.S. official.
