US Open hits New York
Hall of Fame tennis coach Rick Mutch appeared on “America's Newsroom” to share his key U.S. Open predictions.
The 2024 US Open saw its latest bizarre on-court incident on Tuesday night, when insects flew around the court, forcing the cancellation of a match between Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov and America's Francis Tiafoe.
During the second set, which Tiafoe ultimately won, the insect flew in front of both competitors and evaded capture for several minutes.
The match was tied at 4-4 in the second set when it was stopped.

Several ball boys approached the court to try and catch the bug, but were unsuccessful on their first few attempts. The New York crowd laughed at each failed attempt.
Finally, one of the ball boys caught the insect, raised his fist in triumph, proclaimed he'd caught it, and the crowd erupted in sarcastic applause.

The match was quickly restarted and Tiafoe won 6-4.
With Tiafoe's win, the United States will have a local player in the men's final for the first time since 2006. After beating Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals, Tiafoe will face compatriot Taylor Fritz in the semifinals.
This year's U.S. Open has already seen some unusual incidents involving ball officials and on-court stoppages.
Play was temporarily suspended on all courts Monday due to a fire alert.
