US Deploys F-35 Fighters in Puerto Rico
The United States has ordered the deployment of 10 F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico as part of efforts to combat drug cartels, according to sources close to the situation. These jets are expected to enhance the military presence in the southern Caribbean and are set to arrive next week.
This move aligns with the commitment from the Trump administration to intensify actions against designated narcoterrorist groups. In addition to the fighter jets, warships have already been dispatched to the region in recent weeks.
Interestingly, this development follows reports of a recent military action in which US forces killed 11 individuals aboard a “drug carrier” near Venezuela. Trump stated that those targeted were affiliated with the notorious Tren de Aragua crime group.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump labeled the Tren de Aragua a designated foreign terrorist organization, linking its operations to various criminal activities, including mass murder and drug trafficking, affecting both the United States and the wider Western Hemisphere.
He detailed that the strike took place while these individuals were allegedly transporting illegal drugs in international waters, confirming that no US personnel were harmed during the operation.
