Ryan Cochran-Siegle Wins Silver in Men’s Alpine Ski Super-G

On Wednesday, Olympic skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle clinched a silver medal for Team USA in the men’s alpine ski super-G event at the 2026 Winter Olympics. He completed the race with a time of 1 minute 25.45 seconds, just 0.13 seconds behind the gold medalist, Swiss athlete Franjo von Allmen, who now has three golds at these Games. Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt took home the bronze medal.

This achievement marks Cochran-Siegle’s second Olympic medal—he previously earned silver in the same event during the 2022 Beijing Olympics. It’s interesting to note that his Olympic journey began back in 2018 at the Pyeongchang Games, where he placed 14th in the super-G. This time around, he also competed in the downhill, finishing 18th.

In addition to Cochran-Siegle, Americans Sam Morse, Kyle Negomil, and River Radamas took part in the super-G. Morse finished in 23rd place with a time of 1:27.12, while Negomil was right behind him in 26th, clocking 1:28.62. Sadly, Radamas slipped mid-course and was unable to finish, and he seemed really frustrated as he made his way down the hill.

Cochran-Siegle, hailing from Vermont and a member of the Mount Mansfield Club, first hit the World Cup circuit at age 19. Interestingly, despite his Olympic success, he has never placed higher than seventh in a super-G on the World Cup stage. After this competition, he plans to cheer on his fellow teammates.

Looking ahead, Negomil is set to compete in the giant slalom and team events, while Ryder Sarchet will also join him in the giant slalom. It’s going to be interesting to see how they all fare. Overall, Team USA continues to showcase strong performances in this Olympic season.
