The nurse tricked the woman into thinking she had terminal cancer and injected her with fatal insulin. That allowed her to seek to advocate for a $1.5 million life insurance policy, Utah police officers say.
Registered nurse Megan Randall Sandwall, 47, injected 38-year-old Pal Casey Lynn Terry in a fatal dose over the summer, according to newly emerged police documents.
The investigating officers found that more than 28,000 texts among women who showed the sandwall were keen to help their friends commit suicide.
The text exchange, dating back to December 2019, included “a message detailing the various ways Megan would kill him if he was Terry, and a message that Megan provided “help.” [her friend] I'm going to die,” police said.
The message is also said to include discussions about Sandwall's apparent financial difficulties and how being a beneficiary of Terry's life insurance policy would correct everything.
It was not immediately clear whether Terry had a policy, but Sunwall appears to have believed she did, and the nurse is expected to win a $1.5 million payment from there.
Terry's family said they believed she had been trying to kill her for years after learning of Sandwall's arrest.
On the morning of August 12th, Sandwall texted her. According to kutv.
Police were called to Terry's house after her uncle said she had reacted as if she was drowning and found out she was short of breath in the air. Sandwall told investigators that she was alone with Terry all morning and suffered “for several hours” that day.

Paramedics reportedly found a diabetic needle at the scene.
When Terry, who was not diabetic, arrived at the hospital, her blood sugar level plunged to 14. Blood glucose levels below 40 can be fatal.
Sandwall also claims that Terry has signed an order for resurrection and says he doesn't want to go to the hospital.
A search warrant revealed that Terry's sister told hospital staff she had been suffering from leukemia for many years. It is unclear whether Sunwall told Terry's family he had cancer.
Terry passed away on August 15th.
Her sister said, “She's moved to her grandfather's house where she lives now, as she complains about leaving Casey out of her shared apartment and taking insulin home and trying to talk to Casey to help Casey end her suffering.”
However, after her autopsy, Terry's family received shocking news that she had no cancer or other underlying health issues. The same doctor also said that Sandwall is not her power of attorney, KSL.
The inspector's office confirmed that Terry's death was an overdose of possible exogenous insulin, promethazine and other drugs, according to the exit.
After Terry's death, Sandwall reportedly deleted more than 900 texts from his mobile phone and did a search for life insurance policy.
Sandwall was arrested and booked at the Utah County Jail with charges that included aggravated murder in the first degree and obstruction of justice in the third degree.
