Virginia House Democrats on Friday passed an “assault rifle” ban that would ban semi-automatic centerfire rifles with removable magazines and threaded barrels.
It is clear from the prohibition (HB 2) that instead of a threaded barrel, semi-automatic centerfire rifles: Forbidden categories If equipped with a vertical foregrip, “sound suppressor,” “muzzle brake,” “muzzle compensator,” or “folding, telescoping, or collapsible” [rear] There are functions such as “Stock”.
HB 2 also prohibits semi-automatic centerfire pistols with threaded barrels that accept removable magazines and allow the use of “sound suppressors” or “flash suppressors.” The prohibition alone on the combination of detachable magazines and threaded barrels has made it difficult to use the extremely popular models, including numerous models manufactured by Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Heckler & Koch, FN America, Springfield Armory, Walther Arms, and others. A large number of semi-automatic pistols would be banned.
