Valerie Bertinelli is looking forward to a fresh start in the new year.
In a recent post to her Instagram Story, the 64-year-old Food Network star shared a video featuring a touching message to her fans. In the video, a white sign hung on a lamppost depicts the words: “2025 is the perfect year to forget the past, forgive yourself and start again.”
The “Valerie's Home Cooking” host has had her share of ups and downs over the past year. Amid all her struggles, she kept her fans informed by posting her dark moments on Instagram.
In November, Bertinelli shared with fans that he had experienced an alarming anxiety attack, telling his followers that he decided to share because “I'm sure I'm not the only one who's gone through this.”

She said the panic attack left her shaking for hours and she “did my best to get out of the situation with meditation and EMDR.”
“Part of me is interested in what the human body is capable of when emotions get in the way or override rational thought; “There's a part of me that's interested in what happens next,” she wrote in the caption. “There's a strange neurological disorder in our brains, how it affects our bodies, what emotions (which are just information, by the way) are, and why they affect us. I know how powerful it is to push your body into overdrive.”

Shortly before sharing that she had suffered a panic attack, Bertinelli posted a photo of herself with a large cut on her arm in late October.
“I ask for hazard pay, but it was my own damn fault,” she wrote in the caption. “I'm working on a really fun new project and I can't wait to tell you all about it. This is what happens when I literally trip over a corner of the stage and fall right in front of the staff, and the entire audience. ”

She jokingly added, “When you're me,” before calling herself a “clunker” and saying, “Embarrassment is my problem.”
The “Hot in Cleveland” actress also made some positive changes in her life this year, including quitting alcohol and living a sober life. After deciding to participate in 'Dry January' at the beginning of the year, the actress realized the benefits of remaining sober and chose to maintain her lifestyle.
“No matter how hard life can be and how difficult life can be, I find it easier to be clear about what I have to do and what I want to do with my life sooner.” she explained to People magazine in July. “When I wake up in the morning, I feel good. I'm not groggy, I'm not tired. I don't think, 'What did I do last night?'”
She told People in April that alcohol was part of her “toolkit for calming and ignoring the emotions” she had to face after divorcing ex-husband Tom Vitale in 2022.
“There was so much sadness in my life, and alcohol exacerbated it,” she said.

Ta. I want this to be the best year of my life. And I don't want to do what I've been doing for the past 64 years.
