Valerie Bertinelli is dealing with a professional disappointment on social media after saying she was removed from the Kids Baking Championship.

In a video shared on Instagram, Bertinelli explained that she received the confirmation the night before, but had “avoided” confronting it because “it really hurt my feelings.”

The 63-year-old went on to explain that the currently airing episode was filmed in the summer of 2022, adding, “That was the year that was at the height of hell for me. It was a year where I went through it and everything was fine. Like I was pretending to be because that's what you do.''

“And I don't want to sound like a drama queen, but this show saved my life. I worked with really great people and felt productive, and I didn't want to just sink into hell and feel productive.” I learned that instead of trying to keep my head above water, I could spread kindness. In May 2022, Bertinelli filed for divorce from her husband, Tom Vitale, after 11 years of marriage.

When the divorce was finalized in November, she said in an Instagram video: “Happily divorced. God. Finally. It's finally over.”

In her post, the “One Day at a Time” star shared a photo of co-host Goldman and the rest of her friends who spent time together behind the scenes on “Kids Baking Championship.” He expressed his gratitude to the staff.
