Valerie Bertinelli puts long-distance relationship with new boyfriend on display

Valerie Bertinelli found love “as it happens once in a few lifetimes.”

The actress recently shared a video of her and new boyfriend Mike Goodnow laughing while cuddling on the couch. The black-and-white video was shared just over a week after the couple announced their relationship on social media.

The video, which was muted, is set to Taylor Swift’s new song “The Alchemy,” which sings, “Cause they said the signs in your heart were still reserved for me/Honestly, The song’s distinctive lyrics include, “Who are we who fight against alchemy?” ”

Bertinelli simply captioned the photo with an emoji of a face with a hand over its mouth.

One fan responded to Bertinelli’s comment by writing, “I love you so much! You both are like lovesick teenagers and you keep me going,” while another wrote, “Happy is you It suits him well,” he added.

Goodnow also documented her trip to Los Angeles on her Instagram account, posting a photo of Bertinelli watching the sunset.

“Some days seem to last forever and others go by so fast,” he captioned the photo. “It’s been a long time, Southern California. Less than a week was too short. Thank you for the goodbye sunset. I wish it hadn’t gone by so quickly.”

Bertinelli and Goodnow are in a long-distance relationship, with Goodnow living on the East Coast as a writer and Bertinelli living on the West Coast in Los Angeles.

The “Hot in Cleveland” actress first revealed she was in a new relationship in March. However, she kept his name a secret. The two announced their relationship on social media on April 20th, with Bertinelli posting a photo of them together with the caption, “I drink according to your opinion. I got high smoking your jokes all night.” posted.

“It’s unlike any relationship I’ve ever had with a man,” she told USA Today in March, explaining that she “didn’t expect” to be in a relationship again after her divorce from Tom Vitale.

“He wasn’t on my radar. I was going to die with six cats and my dog, and I’m incredibly happy I did it. So this came out of left field. He’s very special.”

Vitale and Bertinelli were married from 2011 to 2022, with Vitale previously calling their divorce “a disaster.”

Prior to her marriage to Vitale, the “One Day at a Time” actress was married to musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007. In an interview with People magazine earlier this month, Bertinelli explained that she had to heal from the trauma of their failure. She got married to find happiness in a new relationship.

“I want to be clear that this process has taken a long time,” she said. “I started being more intentional about my healing, and that meant taking lots of walks together.” [my dog] Luna, it’s been a lot of therapy sessions and a lot of learning, but I deserve to feel better. ”

In an excerpt from her cookbook, Indulge, published by People magazine, Bertinelli expands on that sentiment, saying, “The more I cried, the better I felt. I wasn’t trying to be sad or thin. I wasn’t trying to be anything other than who I was.”
