Vance: Agreement is a 'victory for America'

Vice President JD Vance recently expressed his support for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at concluding the conflict in Iran, suggesting it could contribute positively to global peace.

During a press conference, Vance outlined that the agreement aligns with President Donald Trump’s objectives, including stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons and ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains open. He noted that Iran’s defensive capabilities would be limited, resulting in a reliance solely on ballistic missiles and non-nuclear weapons.

Vance emphasized that, for Iran to regain access to its frozen funds, it must significantly alter its behavior and strive to become a constructive force in the Middle East.

He also cautioned that Iran needs to fulfill its obligations under the agreement to reap the associated benefits.

When asked if he believes Iran’s current leadership comprehends the economic and military power the U.S. has over them enough to inspire long-term behavioral change, Vance replied that he thinks they do recognize the leverage the U.S. holds in negotiations.
