Vance: Charlie Kirk is a ‘hero for America and a martyr for Christianity’

Vice President Vance Honors Charlie Kirk at Memorial

On September 21, 2025, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke at a memorial for Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. He reflected on their friendship and paid tribute to Kirk’s legacy, emphasizing the impact of the co-founder of Turning Point USA, who was tragically killed during an event earlier this month.

Prior to the memorial, Vance shared a post on X, stating, “Last week, we took our dear friend Charlie Kirk home one last time. Today we remember Charlie and return to Arizona in honor of his sacrifice.” His message included a video of him escorting Kirk’s casket from Utah to Arizona.

As a long-time friend, Vance addressed attendees, including Kirk’s widow, Erica. He expressed his thoughts on the attempts to silence Kirk, asserting, “They tried to silence our best friend, Charlie Kirk, but today we’re talking to Charlie Louder from us tonight.” Vance also touched on his own faith, admitting some discomfort in expressing it publicly but stressing its importance in his life.

During his speech, he declared, “It’s better to die a young man in this world than to sell his soul for a simple life with no purpose, no risk, no love, no truth.”

Erica Kirk and former President Donald Trump were among those who spoke following Vance. Vance made a passionate statement for Kirk, saying they would never back down or cower in the face of adversity, regardless of the challenges they faced. He encouraged everyone to stand tall in protecting the truth and the nation, honoring Kirk’s spirit in doing so.

In a moving remark, Vance noted, “The evil murderer who took Charlie from us was expecting to have a funeral today. Instead, my friends, we received the resurrection and blessings of Charlie Kirk and his Lord Jesus Christ.”
