Vance Discusses Democratic Prospects in Upcoming Elections

Vice President J.D. Vance stated on Thursday that the actions of Democrats during this week’s State of the Union address signify that they are unlikely to regain dominance in Congress during the midterm elections this November.

Speaking at a machining facility in Plover, Wisconsin, Vance shared his thoughts before criticizing Democrats for their lack of support during the address. He referenced a specific incident involving a young girl, Dalila Coleman, who survived a car accident with an undocumented immigrant in San Bernardino County, California, back in June 2024.

“We need to discuss what’s at stake in November,” Vance noted. “It might feel like a distant event, but really, the State of the Union should make it clear to Congressional Democrats that reclaiming power is unlikely.” He expressed an optimistic view about Americans overall, stating, “Most people, whether they identify as Democrat, Republican, or neither, are good folks who care about our nation.” However, he voiced skepticism regarding the Democratic members present at the address.

Vance elaborated on an emotional moment featuring Coleman, recalling the joy of a little girl reunited with her father after a traumatic event. He wondered why, despite the emotional impact, Congressional Democrats couldn’t muster the decency to applaud a young survivor. “What’s up with that? They couldn’t applaud for an innocent child showing resilience?” Vance remarked.

He also mentioned that the driver involved in the incident, identified as Partap Singh, faces charges, including vehicular homicide and immigration-related offenses. Vance expressed that, during that moment of joy, there must have been a part of the Democratic Party, perhaps a human side, that wanted to cheer for the girl but chose to remain silent.

In his conclusion, Vance argued that the differences between Congressional Democrats and Republicans stem from whom they serve. He claimed that Democrats answer to those who prioritize border openness and exploit illegal labor, whereas he emphasized a need for American workers to thrive.
