Vance Clearly the ‘More Experienced Debater’

On Tuesday, CNN host Jake Tapper said during his network's coverage of the vice presidential debate that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) was clearly a candidate for Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minnesota). He said he was a more experienced debater.

Tapper said, “Despite months of pretty vicious and nasty attacks between Sen. Vance and Governor Walz, they were generally kind and sympathetic tonight. They talked a lot about finding points. They obviously had the harshest criticism of the people at the top of the ticket. Vance, obviously, was probably the last one to come out. I think you have to say that the clever speaker's waltz was the most powerful moment. They're talking about democracy. It was Vance's peaceful handover of power. , I think that was also the moment when I argued that Dana and Abby, although obviously not accurate, my overall impression was that both men became likable. , I think both men have a pretty good chance of accomplishing the task.”

He added, “J.D. Vance is much more experienced at public speaking, defending himself, and redirecting. You're right that Walz has let Vance get away with saying things that aren't true multiple times. and talked about Obamacare as if Donald Trump had actually tried to save Obamacare.”
