Vance Commends YouTuber Nick Shirley for Covering Minnesota Fraud

Vice President J.D. Vance commended YouTuber Nick Shirley for his reporting on alleged fraud in Minnesota, claiming Shirley has achieved “more valuable journalism” than any of the winners of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize.

“This man has done far more useful journalism than any of the 2024 @pulitzercenter award winners,” Vance remarked in a post on X.

This response came after Shirley shared a video detailing what he termed the “Minnesota Scam,” stating that his team had “uncovered over $110 million in just one day.”

“Here is the complete 42-minute video in which my crew and I expose Minnesota’s misdeeds. This might be my most significant work to date,” Shirley added. “We discovered over $110 million in a single day. Please like and share widely. It’s time to hold corrupt politicians and scammers accountable.”

In a separate post, conservative activist Benny Johnson highlighted Shirley’s revelation of a fraudulent scheme exceeding $100 million involving fake daycare and medical service sites in Minnesota.

Shirley’s full report is available for viewing.

According to a report by Breitbart News’ Lowell Kafiel, Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) demanded explanations from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) following the virality of a video where a YouTuber confronted an employee at a daycare that allegedly received millions in federal funding for 99 children but appeared inactive.

During his investigation at the Quality Learning Center in South Minneapolis, Shirley noted that the center’s sign misspelled “Learning.” An unidentified woman at the facility attempted to prevent him from entering, wrongly asserting that Shirley and his companion were Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Shirley’s report follows a November release from city journal, which indicated “federal counterterrorism sources” had verified that the Somali community in Minnesota was misappropriating millions to send to Somalia, with some funds reaching the terrorist group al-Shabab.

Allegations suggest that many of these fraudulent acts were conducted by members of Minnesota’s sizable Somali community. Federal counterterrorism agencies confirmed that millions of misappropriated taxpayer dollars were funneled back to Somalia, benefitting al-Shabab. One unnamed source noted, “The largest funders of al-Shabaab are Minnesota taxpayers.”

In response to these discoveries, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced an investigation into the claims that Minnesota taxpayer money might have supported al-Shabab.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon has also called for Walz’s resignation, citing reports of extensive fraud within the state’s education system.
