Government Investigation Into Violence Incitement at Georgetown University
Vice President JD Vance addressed the issue of potential federal funding being used to “incite violence against conservatives” during an appearance on Fox News’s “Ingraham’s Angle.” His remarks came in light of a recently removed flyer at Georgetown University.
This flyer provocatively stated, “Hey fascist! Catch!” In light of such content, Laura Ingraham questioned Vance about the government’s role in addressing violence incited on university campuses. “From a policy standpoint, if you’re using federal money to encourage violence against conservatives, that’s not acceptable,” Vance stated. He emphasized the need for Georgetown to ensure safety for all students, regardless of their political affiliations. He noted that promoting violence constitutes a breach of responsibility to both students and the public.
Vance also commented on broader issues of political violence. “It’s essential to recognize that there are individuals at the top instigating these violent acts,” he said, vowing to dismantle networks associated with left-wing violence.
The flyer that circulated online included messages disparaging specific political groups and incorporated QR codes leading to activist communities. In response, Georgetown University remarked that it is currently investigating these incidents and maintains a zero-tolerance stance on violence or threats.
“Georgetown has removed the flyer and is taking steps to ensure the safety and security of its community,” stated the university. Reports indicate that the flyers were linked to a left-wing group, the John Brown Gun Club, associated with political unrest and protection of protesters from opposing factions.
Following the assassination of political figure Charlie Kirk on September 10, evidence such as bullet casings reportedly contained provocative messages tied to leftist movements. Such complex and troubling dynamics continue to unfold in the current sociopolitical landscape.
