J.D. Vance kicked off his campaign in Milwaukee on Friday, making his debut as he hit the road as former President Trump’s running mate, bringing along the family’s four-legged friend.
German shepherd Atlas cheerfully scampered up the steps of the Trump campaign plane despite the rainy weather.
“Atlas had a great time at the campaign rally today and, unlike Kamala, enjoyed meeting with reporters on the plane,” Vance spokesman Taylor Van Kirk said in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.

Vance’s wife, Usha, was also in Milwaukee with her husband and their dog during the campaign stop on Friday.
Vance poked fun at his dog in a post accompanying X’s video, which currently has more than 10,000 likes.
“You can’t really tell from the video, but he was unhappy with the wet metal stairs, but he seemed fine on the plane,” Vance said.

“We have two German shepherds, and they both have a habit of fawning on people who don’t like dogs.”
Atlas’s eventful day didn’t end with his flight aboard Trump’s plane, which made an emergency landing in Milwaukee shortly thereafter.

“As soon as the issue was resolved, the plane returned to its originally scheduled flight path to Cincinnati.”
