Family Lemonade Stand Supports Special Olympics

A lemonade stand run by Second Lady Usha Vance and her children recently created a buzz as they offered homemade treats and freshly squeezed drinks to raise funds for the Special Olympics.

On Thursday, Usha shared a picture from the stand on social media, mentioning, “Yesterday we beat the summer heat at a lemonade stand, complete with lemonade squeezed by the kids and cookies and cupcakes! Together, the kids decided to donate the proceeds to our friends at Special Olympics.”

Images from the event showed children eagerly serving customers, with the vice president and Usha present to support the effort. A good number of people lined up in front of their setup, enjoying the festive atmosphere.

In addition, another image revealed the pricing for the tasty offerings: lemonade and cookies were set at $3, while cupcakes were $4.

Mrs. Vance informed a news outlet that the stand successfully raised over $700, all of which would go to the Special Olympics. The organization expressed gratitude for the Vance family’s ongoing commitment to their cause.

“We invite you to join us in building a stronger community of people with ID [Intellectual Disabilities]. By #ChooseToInclude people with ID, you can help create a more welcoming and connected world for athletes,” they mentioned, highlighting the importance of inclusion.

This isn’t the first charitable event hosted by the Vances; they also organized a Thanksgiving dinner for military families at Fort Campbell in November, featuring traditional favorites like turkey and mashed potatoes. The vice president’s daughter was spotted ensuring that everyone received a pack of butter.

Additionally, their family is expecting their fourth child, a boy, later this month.
