In an interview with CBS on Tuesday, Quentin Fulks, chief deputy director for the Biden-Harris campaign, said that 2024 Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), is a “sealed-off” of 2024 Republican presidential nominee former President Donald Trump, and that “it’s not his job to correct Trump or to soften Trump on these issues. In fact, he may be even more extreme.”
Fulks began by saying that Vance was “just a stamp of approval for Donald Trump. I think it’s important for the American voter to take a step back and ask why Donald Trump had to choose a new running mate, because his first running mate did not certify the results of a legitimate election, and J.D. Vance said he would.”
He added, “They only know one language, and that’s MAGA extremism. They’re both doubling down. He’s going to continue to do exactly what Donald Trump said. He’s not going to correct Trump or moderate Trump on these issues. In fact, he may become even more extreme. When we talk about abortion in cases of rape and incest, it’s not acceptable for women to have those types of abortions.[s] Regarding his treatment after these incidents, he said, “Two wrongs don’t make one right.” He has cemented some of the most unrealistic policy positions.
