Vance predicts ‘a little bit of disappointment’ if he’s not Trump VP pick

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), who is rumored to be on the shortlist to be former President Trump’s running mate, said he would be “a little disappointed” if he wasn’t selected.

Vance and his wife Usha Participated Appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Lawrence Jones was interviewed about potentially becoming the next second family.

The Ohio senator was once a critic of Trump but is now one of his biggest supporters and is rumored to be one of Trump’s front-runners.

Jones asked Vance if the Trump campaign had informed him that he was under vetting, and Vance acknowledged that they had reached out, but added that he believed the campaign “reached out to a number of people.”

“My guess is they’re watching me and they’re watching a lot of other people and if they want to ask me they’ll ask, and they don’t have to,” Vance said.

The Ohio senator acknowledged that he is human and likely to become disappointed when things don’t go his way.

“So knowing that this has the potential to happen, if it doesn’t happen, then for sure I’d be a little disappointed,” he said. “But the bigger this is, I think it’s pretty awesome to be doing the job that I’m doing.”

He added that he loves being a father and that “that wouldn’t change whether or not Mr. Trump asked me to be his vice president.”

The former president said he would announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in mid-July.

Other possible vice presidential candidates include Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (Republican).
