Vice President JD Vance shared his thoughts with comedian Theo Von recently, expressing that he made a “big mistake” when he alleged that Elon Musk was associated with Jeffrey Epstein’s files. Vance cautioned that the ongoing feud between Musk and former President Trump could ultimately harm both Musk personally and the country at large.
“I think it’s a mistake to pursue the president like that. If they’re locked in a blood feud, it’s detrimental for the nation, and honestly, it doesn’t bode well for Elon either,” Vance argued.
In a recent post, Musk connected Epstein to Trump while criticizing both the former president and Republican leaders over a budget settlement bill. Musk tweeted, “When you drop a really big bomb… it’s found in the Epstein file. That’s the real reason they’re not public. Have a great day, DJT! The truth comes out.”
During the conversation, Vance remarked that Trump had mentioned “nothing wrong with Jeffrey Epstein,” reaffirming his loyalty to the former president. He expressed a desire for Musk to reconcile with Trump but expressed doubt about that ever happening, especially given the recent accusations.
When Von inquired about Musk’s state of mind, Vance speculated that ongoing threats against Musk and his company, combined with tensions surrounding the Congressional Budget Settlement Bill, might have played a role in Musk’s recent sentiments.
Vance observed that Musk’s business has faced relentless attacks, even to the point where some of his cars were targeted. He pointed out, “This guy is caught up in politics and suffers a lot because of it.” While acknowledging frustrations with Congress regarding the spending bill, he noted that its primary aim seemed to be maneuvering away from significant tax hikes rather than substantial spending cuts. “D.C.’s process is bureaucratic and slow, which can be frustrating for business leaders,” he added.
