Vanderbilt stuns top-ranked Alabama, securing Commodores’ first-ever win over No. 1 team

The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated No. 1 Alabama 40-35 on Saturday, recording perhaps the biggest win in program history.

The Crimson Tide won the first toss and it was postponed. Vanderbilt quickly drove down the field and took the lead with Cedric Alexander's 7-yard touchdown run.

It was the first time since 2007 that Vandy led with a touchdown against Alabama, and it was Nick Saban's second game as coach. On this day, the University of Alabama came back and won 24-10.
