Vanessa Sivadge Claims Texas Hospital Took Retaliatory Action Against Her

Whistleblower from Texas Hospital Faces Backlash After Speaking Out

Vanessa Sivadge, who worked at a hospital in Texas, lost her job after she voiced concerns over experimental transgender treatments for children. This led to questioning from the FBI.

During her appearance on “The Daily Signal Podcast,” she shared how her faith compelled her to raise her voice. She felt isolated, fearing that her apprehensions were not shared by others, despite believing that the practices of “gender-affirming care” were in conflict with both her faith and medical ethics.

“I felt so alone,” Sivadge recalled. “I thought I was the only one in the system who held these beliefs. It was overwhelming and I felt totally outnumbered.”

She observed that the medical community largely accepted a narrative: if a child persistently identifies as the opposite gender, it’s considered healthy—even life-saving—to administer experimental drugs that change their internal chemistry and external appearance.

However, research has surfaced indicating that these puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones can result in severe side effects, and they often lead to drastic surgeries that alter the body’s anatomy. While some studies indicate that these medications might increase suicidal thoughts among users, many doctors and advocates argue that not supporting a child’s gender identity could lead to even worse outcomes.

Sivadge, who worked at Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in the U.S., witnessed situations where doctors pressured parents to consider these treatments for their children.

“Children would come in distressed, confused about their identities,” she noted. “For any loving parent, it’s daunting when a doctor in a lab coat says, ‘If you don’t affirm your child’s identity, they may harm themselves.’”

“It’s heartbreaking to think this is the only medically accepted path moving forward,” she added.

She described how she saw children transform, saying, “I watched as they began to erase parts of themselves. Girls would develop deeper voices and more masculine features, while boys started to appear more feminine.”

When Dr. Eithan Haim revealed documents concerning the hospital’s “gender-affirming care,” it spurred Sivadge to come forward, as she also released corroborating documents.

However, soon after, she was confronted at her home by two FBI agents. They informed her she was linked to a probe regarding a leaker who allegedly breached health privacy laws.

Sivadge reported that they pressured her to testify against Haim, warning her that her safety and career were at stake. She declined and subsequently went public with claims that the hospital improperly billed Texas Medicaid for puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. Texas Children’s Hospital, however, maintains that it complies with all Medicaid regulations.

She publicly shared her concerns in June 2024, but was terminated from her position by August.

“I do believe this was retaliation,” Sivadge told The Daily Signal.

The Department of Health and Human Services launched an investigation into Texas Children’s Hospital in April for allegedly retaliating against her and also established a complaint portal for whistleblowers to report similar cases involving “gender-affirming care” for minors.

Texas Children’s Hospital did not provide any comments regarding these claims of retaliation.

Following her departure, Sivadge founded an organization called Protecting Texas Children.

“Our mission is to protect the innocence of every child by upholding biological truth,” she explained. This includes opposing sexually explicit materials in schools and raising awareness about the potential harms of socially transitioning children.

Sivadge expressed that while Texas might seem like a conservative state, many Republican lawmakers often shy away from fully supporting conservative values.

Ultimately, she emphasizes that her stance against gender ideology is rooted in her faith. “Only God can speak existence into being,” she asserted. “But activists claim that simply declaring oneself as something creates that truth.”

She believes deeply in the importance of Genesis 1, that humans are made male and female, and that each person is created in the image of God with a purpose.

The FBI has opted not to comment on this situation.
