Visa Cash App Racing Bulls is seventh with 41 points, while Aston Martin sits in eighth with 36. In ninth place is Haas with 35 points, and Alpine rounds out the top ten with 20 points.
Looking ahead to the race, VCarb believes the circuit layout could work in their favor amid this five-way struggle.
“Round 14 of the 2025 Formula One season takes us to Budapest,” Chief Technology Officer Tim Goss mentioned in the team’s media preview. He noted that the track features complex layouts with numerous low-speed corners, some reaching 180 degrees. This setup requires a higher level of downforce, making overtaking quite challenging and placing a greater importance on qualifying performance.
Pirelli is providing tires from the softer end of the C3, C4, and C5 range. Goss added that their car performs well under these conditions, showcasing good tire management.
Drivers Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson are eager to build on the team’s recent successes in Belgium. They recently scored five points—four from Lawson’s eighth place finish and one from Hadjar’s performance in the Spa F1 sprint race.
“We had a strong showing at Spa Francorchamps last week with promising results leading up to the main race,” Hadjar said. “It was a frustrating end to the weekend since we felt we deserved more than just a point, but the car is in a good place right now, and we’re confident for this week’s race.”
Lawson added, “This race is the final one before the summer break, so we’re aiming to finish the first half of the season on a high note. Cars are getting faster these days, so it’s crucial to keep improving, especially since the competition is so tight right now. Hungary offers a different kind of challenge compared to Spa, and we’re excited to get out there and maximize the car’s performance.”
The Hungarian Grand Prix kicks off on Thursday with Media Day, followed by a full practice schedule leading up to qualifying on Saturday.
