Venezuelan illegal alien tackled by federal agents at New Hampshire courthouse

The US Venezuelan man was tackled in a New Hampshire court earlier this year by federal agents after he illegally fled from an attempt to quietly detain him in the elevator.

According to the Associated Press via the Nashua Police Station, 33-year-old Arnuel Marquez Colmenarez was taken into custody while heading to a court case on charges of driving drunk, driving without a license and failing to provide information after the accident.

A February 20 video released by the Nashua Circuit Court on Monday showed Cormenares passing security in court and entering the elevator along with federal agents and several others.

When the others leave the elevator, you can see the agent lightly touching the Cormenales on his shoulder before talking to him. The video does not include audio, but you can see Cormenales exhausting the elevator after a few seconds.

Two agents kick him out of the elevator and throw him onto the ground a few feet away, knocking down an elderly man walking with a cane in the process.

Jared Neff, the court liaison officer at the Hudson Police Station, said he was at the prosecutor’s office when he heard something was going on near the elevator and decided to check it out.

“There were screams of “Stop it!” And according to the Associated Press, people were struggling with the loud “vans” that sounded like they were falling to the ground and fighting aggressively and struggling.”

Neff helped the agent hold Cormenales down.

The knocked down elderly man remained on his back during his arrest, and it took him a minute for him to receive help, the video showed. It is unknown if he was injured.

Agents informed Neff that he had been ordered to detain illegal immigrants and that he had quietly tried to do so in the elevator.

According to the Associated Press, he did not show up for an arrest and a bench warrant was issued to Cormenales as prosecutors in the case were not contacted by federal agents and noted his arrest.

Colmenarez reported that it was being held at an ICE facility in Texas as of Monday, the AP reported after viewing its online database.
