With Franklin Camargo, a Venezuelan refugee Pragel commentator, I said Alex Marlow, editor-in-chief of Breitbart News, said he was shocked to learn about the left hatred.
Talk to Marlow Friday episode of Alex Marlow Show The podcast, Camargo explained that his “bigest culture shock” for him when he came to America was anti-American politics on the left.
“When I moved to the United States, there were a lot of cultural shocks – new languages, new traditions, new customs, but the biggest cultural shock was actually about politics,” Camargo said.
“We're approaching the first four days of July – it's actually my favorite holiday – and I asked [my friend]”Are you going to celebrate?” continued Camargo, adding that his friend replied. “No, I'm not going to celebrate. I'm not celebrating July 4th.”
When Camargo asked his friend why, the friend replied, “Because I hate America.”
“It was a real cultural shock,” Camargo said. “Why does someone hate America mean a country that was founded on valuable, wonderful, great, great ideas.
“In Europe, if it wasn't the US's fault, they would speak German now,” he added. “This is a country that has allowed a lot of people like me to escape the totalitarian regime and come here to realize their dreams and achieve so many goals.”
“Why do you hate this country?” Camargo asked.
Camargo continues, “The best way to talk to young people is to actually explain how great this country is and how it wasn't a coincidence. It wasn't a coincidence. It was about the idea. It was about the foundations. It was about culture.”
“And this is very important,” emphasized Camargo. “It was about the principle of freedom. Every individual has the right to be free to pursue our own happiness.”
“There are Christian foundations that have actually taught us that we could not refuse or deny and that we actually taught us that our rights were not coming from the government,” he added.
Kamargo explained:
So they changed our rights and said, “What do you know, hate speech is dangerous, so we're going to limit the way you can speak” – ultimately, that's about it. This is the greatest country on the planet, and we should be proud to be here and feel blessed to be here. That's something young people haven't heard of. They are lying about America, and they are taught to lie about its history, its fundamental values.
“If people hate America, they'll embrace the idea of the left, because what the left is telling you is that this country is racist, it's evil and we should change it forever.
“And the way you accept those ideals is, first of all, you appreciate what this country is, and I think Pragel It does a really good job on that,” he added.
