A Venezuelan illegal immigrant was shot and killed by an off-duty FBI agent in Chicago on Monday night. This individual, named Oscar D. Corrales and reported to be 27 years old, had previously been apprehended at the southern border and released into the U.S. during the Biden administration, according to various federal law enforcement sources.
Sources indicate that Corrales was brandishing a firearm and aiming it at people in a homeless encampment when he was confronted by the agent. The agent, who was driving alone at the time, exited his vehicle and fatally shot Corrales.
Further details reveal that Corrales had been caught at the southern border in October 2023. He was subsequently released. Additionally, he had a prior arrest in California, where he was let go despite an ICE detainer, although specifics about that case, such as the charges faced and the jurisdiction involved, haven’t been clarified yet.
