Heroic Rescue on Arizona Highway

A Marine veteran and his teenage daughter bravely stepped in to help six strangers during a dramatic car crash on an Arizona highway.

Casey Reinke, a luxury real estate agent, and his 14-year-old daughter, Eliana, were driving on Carefree Highway when a speeding vehicle collided with their pickup truck, igniting both cars in flames.

Reinke quickly stopped the vehicle and instructed Eliana to contact the police. He then jumped out to rush towards the wreckage. Eliana, meanwhile, alerted other motorists, quickly forming an impromptu rescue team.

“In the midst of the chaos, it almost felt like an unspoken adjustment,” Reinke recalled.

He managed to extract the driver from one of the vehicles, but as the bumper caught fire, others remained trapped in the pickup. Good Samaritans joined forces to flip the truck and help free the remaining five victims from the shattered windows.

According to reports, two women have sustained critical injuries from the explosion and will need several surgeries for severe burns.

Amid the chaos, Reinke admitted he didn’t think about his own safety. “I was more worried about what would happen if I couldn’t do that,” he expressed. “It was clear that our time was limited. We had to find a way to make it happen. That’s the Marine Corps way.”

Survivor Jeffrey Johnson, who was with his family, expressed gratitude towards Reinke and the other rescuers. “The fact that we brought together people who didn’t know each other and made this happen so quickly saved lives,” he noted.

Johnson elaborated that the colliding car had hit the truck at over 100 miles per hour, puncturing the gas tank.

Firefighters later informed Eliana that her father’s swift actions had saved six lives, though she had no doubt about his capabilities. “My father is that man,” she said proudly. “I’m proud of him.”
