Draymond Green Faces Off Against Victor Wembanyama

Draymond Green took on the task of guarding Victor Wembanyama, but the matchup didn’t exactly go as planned. Green, listed at 6 feet 6 inches, was up against the towering 7-foot-4 Wembanyama in a tense game.

Even though Green is known for his physical play, he found himself at a disadvantage. He managed to position himself tightly on Wembanyama, but once the play started, Wembanyama had the upper hand.

With a well-executed spin, Wembanyama received an alley-oop pass that allowed him to dunk right over Green, leaving him momentarily stunned. The crowd in San Antonio erupted as Green and Wembanyama were briefly separated, preventing any escalation.

Interestingly, Green had fouled Wembanyama just before the dunk attempt, which led officials to disallow the basket. Shortly after, he picked up another foul, his fifth, and left the court visibly frustrated, arguing with the officials.

Wembanyama expressed his thoughts post-game, saying, “I’m not trying to prove anything to anyone. But if someone talks to you a certain way, you have to respond accordingly,” as reported by local media.

Green, however, felt there was a bit of hypocrisy in how emotions were handled. He remarked, “It’s good to see him show emotion. But if I react passionately and my teammates have to intervene, I hope I wouldn’t face severe penalties. It just feels inconsistent.” There’s an interesting dynamic there, don’t you think?

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry shined with a remarkable 49 points, leading the Warriors to a narrow victory of 109-108. Wembanyama blocked a critical shot from Jimmy Butler with 33 seconds left, which briefly gave the Spurs an edge, but they failed to extend their lead after a missed shot.

Curry was fouled shortly after, making a crucial free throw that tipped the game in favor of the Warriors as time ran out. It was a tight finish, full of unexpected turns.
