Victoria Beckham Discusses Marriage Speculation
Victoria Beckham has recently sidestepped inquiries regarding her marriage to David Beckham, in light of past allegations of infidelity surrounding the soccer star.
During a revealing chat on a podcast, Victoria opted not to delve into the marriage rumors that have lingered over the years. The host, Alexandra Cooper, brought up the ongoing speculation, referencing the allegations highlighted in the 2023 documentary, “Beckham.” “You’ve dealt with speculation about your marriage throughout your career,” Cooper asked. “Could you explain how you and David handled this?”
Victoria responded, “Well, we’ve faced numerous challenges, and we were just discussing it after celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary. You know, a lot of people predicted we wouldn’t make it… yet here we are with 26 years behind us.” She continued, “There have been many hurdles, but we’ve been in this together. We weathered the storm.”
As the conversation shifted, Victoria quickly moved the topic away from her marriage to discuss her struggle with an eating disorder, which she had been sharing about prior. “What’s interesting is that after the documentary aired, so many women reached out to me, saying they could relate,” she said, effectively closing the marriage discussion.
She added, “I mentioned it to Harper since she’s seen the documentary. Young girls continue to fixate on food, and if my experiences can help someone, then I think it’s worth sharing.”
In an earlier interview, Victoria revealed that she had felt some resentment towards David when he was accused of cheating in 2003. Reflecting on their time together amid the rumors fueled by the documentary, she said, “It was a really rough patch in my life.”
In 2003, the couple briefly separated, with Victoria and their children residing in the UK while David played for Real Madrid in Spain. Though neither publicly named the women involved in the allegations, the documentary showcased related headlines from that time.
Victoria described that period as incredibly challenging, stating, “It felt as if the entire world was against us. Honestly, at one point, we were somewhat at odds with each other. Until we were in Madrid, when things got tough, it felt like we were united. However, when we moved, that support seemed diminished. It was a sad time, and incredibly hard for me to navigate.”
“It was like a circus, you know? When a circus arrives, everyone enjoys the show—except for those in it,” she remarked, illustrating the difficulties they faced.
In 2003, Rebecca Luce and Sarah Marbeck each claimed to have had relationships with David. Luce, who was his personal assistant, mentioned a four-month affair, while Marbeck alleged a two-year exchange of explicit messages and physical encounters.
David firmly denied these allegations, asserting in a statement, “Lately, I’ve grown accustomed to increasingly absurd stories about my private life. The reality is, I have a wonderful wife and two special children, and no third party can change that.”
