The video on the phone captured a scary and surreal moment when a shaft-wielding driver repeatedly slams another car after a recent traffic accident in Memphis.
Memphis police I said Officers responded to a worsening assault report on Poplar Avenue and South Goodlett Street just before noon last Saturday.

Officers were told the victim and his girlfriend were inside their car and hit the back of a Chevrolet Impala, police said. After crashing, the Impala driver left the car armed with x and attacked the victim's car several times with x before driving back to Impala.
Investigators said 51-year-old Brent Fong was taken into custody Thursday and charged with two counts of worsening assault, two counts of reckless danger and vandalism.
Blaze News confirmed with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Friday afternoon that Fong was still in jail. Prison records show that his bonds are set at $100,000.

WHBQ-TV said Fong was arrested in connection with another violent crime.
The station cited records and reported that Fong was arrested last year for throwing a brick into the ambulance windshield. Five years ago, Fon pleaded guilty to throwing a brick into someone's front window. The victim of the incident was attacked in the head with a brick. Fong served one day behind the bar, WHBQ said.
Additionally, Fong was charged with a Memphis shooting 25 years ago, but was released after pleading guilty to insanity grounds, Station added, citing the records.

WREG-TV He and his girlfriend – who didn't want to reveal their names to the station – spoke to a 76-year-old man who said he was a victim of a crime and has since feared their lives.
“As he got closer, it seemed more incredible,” the man told the station. “He made a big swing and knocked out the rear window with one or two swings. He then came to the driver's side and started knocking on the door with an x and drilled a hole in the driver's door.”
