Terrell Suggs Arrested After Incident at Starbucks

Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was arrested following an incident where he reportedly brandished a firearm at a Starbucks drive-thru in Scottsdale last year. This occurred on March 10, 2024, and dashcam footage captured portions of the event.

The dashcam video, as reported by TMZ Sports, shows Suggs backing his truck up toward another vehicle, though no damage occurred. Following this, Suggs and the other driver talked outside their vehicles, inspecting for any potential harm. According to police, when Suggs left the scene, he reportedly yelled obscenities at the driver.

Later on, footage revealed Suggs again speaking to the driver from his vehicle before pointing a gun out the window, prompting the driver to call 911. Suggs, I think, was trying to assert a sense of control, but the situation escalated quickly.

Denise White, Suggs’ representative, stated that Suggs had not collided with any cars and feared other drivers might pursue him. She explained that he felt the need to display his gun to defend himself, believing he was under threat. “Arizona allows open carry, and Terrell understands the responsibility that comes with owning a firearm,” White noted. She added that his intent was not to escalate the situation.

In a statement, Suggs reflected on his fears during the encounter, saying, “When another vehicle increased tensions, I felt scared for my safety and uncertain about my own intentions.” He expressed concern about the possibility of continued confrontation and the safety of those around him.

Subsequently, Suggs was arrested and booked on two counts of assault and disorderly conduct. He later pleaded guilty, resulting in an 18-month probation sentence.

Suggs, a notable NFL player, was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and earned the title of defensive player of the year in 2003, as well as in 2011. Drafted by the Baltimore Ravens as the 10th overall pick in 2003, he played with the team until 2018, later joining the Kansas City Chiefs and securing his second Super Bowl title in 2020.
