Vice President Kamala Harris suffered another gaffe this week when she incorrectly declared that parentheses are “not allowed” in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament until 2022.
Harris tried to argue that March Madness is rife with sexism, which makes women’s college basketball less popular than men’s. However, the vice president debunked the sex discrimination claim by falsely declaring that the women’s college basketball team would be banned from tournament play until 2022.
Harris spoke to Spectrum News Thursday at an event in Charlotte, North Carolina. Reporter Tim Boyum noted that this year’s NCAA women’s basketball tournament was “very strong.”
