Belmont Teacher Arrested for Child Pornography Possession
Authorities have arrested a 45-year-old teacher from Belmont, Massachusetts, on allegations of possessing child pornography.
The individual, Leon Dreyer, was taken into custody on Saturday facing two charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This was reported on Sunday.
According to the Belmont Superintendent, the teachers undergo proper testing and regular interviews as per school regulations.
Currently, Dreyer is no longer at the Belmont Middle School where he worked, and his access to technology has been suspended while the investigation is ongoing.
Superintendent Jill Geyser stated, “At this time, there is no information to suggest that this individual has engaged in inappropriate conduct toward BPS students on BPS property or in connection with his employment with BPS.”
Furthermore, it’s noted that Dreyer also worked as a counselor at a camp in Middleboro, specifically Camp Avoda.
This incident comes amid a broader context where several school teachers have faced similar allegations concerning child pornography.
In 2025, a former kindergarten teacher in Texas, Mark Penfield Eichhorn, was sentenced to 30 years for producing child pornography involving two young boys.
Court documents revealed that Eichhorn had acknowledged a long-standing desire to sexually assault children, which he admitted to since 2019 while continuing to work with kids. He was found to have been involved in a child pornography trafficking network across platforms like Kik and Telegram. His possession included disturbing videos of minors aged 10 to 12 engaged in explicit acts.
When arrested, Eichhorn was teaching at a private school in Abilene. Authorities disclosed that he even contacted one victim with an offer of $100 a week to be her “sugar daddy,” later admitting to paying both victims to create sexually explicit videos.
Earlier this year, a Lutheran church leader in Illinois was arrested for alleged child pornography production, and a Nebraska middle school teacher was accused of using AI to generate similar content while at work.
