Conservative Journalist Reports Planned Assault at Minneapolis Protest

A conservative journalist was attacked at a left-wing demonstration in Minneapolis, and new footage suggests that the attackers might have orchestrated the violence beforehand.

On Saturday, Savana Hernandez, a reporter for Turning Point USA (TPUSA), shared multiple videos showing a chaotic confrontation where she was surrounded and assaulted by a group protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions in the area. In the altercation, Hernandez was able to identify a father and daughter who were involved, noting that they were punched and pushed to the ground several times.

This disturbing incident has caught the attention of the Department of Justice, indicating the seriousness of the situation.

In the latest video shared by Hernandez, the father, Kris Ostroshko, is seen giving instructions to his daughter, Paige, before they approached her. It seems they had planned the incident in advance. Hernandez mentioned, “This is Chris instructing his daughter to come up to me and ‘blow the whistle in your ear.’” The revelation that they appeared to premeditate their actions adds a troubling layer to the story.

Mr. Ostroshko has a criminal history, having been convicted of unemployment fraud back in 2005 and was reportedly on probation at the time of the incident. In the video, he can be seen taking a whistle from his car and using it against Hernandez before the situation escalated. Following this, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office charged him, his wife Deyanna, and Paige with assault.

The assault had physical repercussions for Hernandez, who later experienced headaches and stiffness in her shoulders.

There have been previous instances where conservative journalists faced aggression while covering anti-ICE protests. Just in February, another reporter was attacked by protesters in a similar environment, and, weeks earlier, independent journalists had survived a mob assault opposing ICE actions.

It’s also worth mentioning the physical dangers of actions like blowing a whistle in someone’s ear, which can potentially cause hearing damage, as noted by health experts.

As this incident unfolds, it raises questions about safety, journalism, and the volatility at such protests, suggesting a broader pattern of violence against those with opposing views.
