Video reveals Texas floods resulted in $1.5M damage to high-end vehicles at a car dealership

Surveillance footage captured the devastation caused by recent floods in Texas, which led to an estimated $1.5 million in damages for a supercar dealership, destroying eight luxury vehicles, including Ferraris, Jaguars, and Porsches.

NG SuperCars, located in Liberty Hill, was inundated with three feet of water around 4 AM on July 5, despite being outside the designated flood plain.

Owner Daniel Haalbert, 45, plans to assess the damage now that the water has receded.

The floodwaters were powerful enough to blow away the shop’s front roll-up door, leaving behind a two-inch thick layer of mud throughout the business.

Out of the 12 supercars that were inside, it appears that ten sustained water damage, affecting both mechanical and electrical systems.

The vehicles impacted include three Ferrari 458s, two Ferrari F430s, two Ferrari 360s, one Ferrari 355, one Jaguar XJ6, and one Porsche Speedster.

Experts estimate the total damage to the cars could exceed $2 million.

Haalbert, who runs a YouTube channel focused on supercars, is currently dealing with insurance uncertainties and is seeking aid from FEMA and SBA.

In response, a GoFundMe campaign was quickly launched to assist with cleanup and recovery efforts.

“We didn’t see this coming,” he remarked.

He pointed out a lack of effective warning and mentioned how surprising it was for a store not situated in a flood zone to experience such devastation.

Haalbert learned about the flood when his business partner called him at 7:30 AM, urging him to check the security footage.

As he drove to the site, he noticed that a nearby river had overflowed onto the road, eroding the surrounding land.

“It was pretty alarming to witness,” he said.

One striking discovery amid the chaos was a live armadillo that had been swept into the shop during the flood.

As of July 8, Texas floodwaters have tragically claimed at least 109 lives, including children at a camp.

Now facing significant financial challenges, Haalbert is working through insurance claims while exploring other assistance options via FEMA and SBA loans.

“We’re uncertain how insurance will respond or if it will help at all,” he mentioned, highlighting the financial strain posed by the situation.

Following the flood-related post on their YouTube channel, community support was swift, with around 15 volunteers showing up by Sunday morning to help with the cleanup, including disassembling damaged vehicles.

“It’s incredible how generous people can be,” Haalbert expressed. “It really restores faith in humanity, especially with many of these helpers being longtime viewers of our channel.”

The store, which specializes in high-end vehicle sales and services, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to tackle the recovery costs.

While cleanup is ongoing, Haalbert is focused on preventing further water damage and determining the best steps forward for their business.

Despite their involvement in luxury cars, Haalbert shared that he and his team are not wealthy and are simply people striving to realize their aspirations.

“We might deal in supercars, but that doesn’t equate to being rich,” he noted. “We’re just hardworking individuals trying to make our dreams come true.”
