Plane wreckage has been captured on video after two aircraft collided in mid-air in a field outside a Nevada airport, killing one person.
“A single-engine Globe GC-1B Swift and a single-engine Cessna 206 collided in mid-air near Minden-Tahoe Airport around 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday,” the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
“The Globe crashed in a field. The Cessna landed at the airport. There was one occupant on board the Globe and two occupants in the Cessna,” the FAA added, saying, “The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation.”
“At this time, one fatality has been confirmed,” the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said in a statement, and the airport has been closed following the crash.

It was not immediately clear what caused the two planes to collide.

Emergency crews are investigating after one person was killed in a crash near Minden-Tahoe Airport in Nevada. (KRXI)
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that “the NTSB is handling the investigation and will provide all updates.”
The accident is the second fatality reported at the airport within the past month.
