A Coast Guard helicopter crew pulled a 74-year-old hiker to safety after falling off a bridge and leaving him stranded in the wilderness. The rescue was captured on dramatic video.
The daring rescue took place Sunday afternoon, when the Coast Guard was notified of the injuries about 29 miles east of Brookings, Oregon. agency reported.
The MH-65 Dolphin helicopter was dispatched from Guard Sector Humboldt Bay base shortly before 3 p.m. and arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m., the agency said.
The footage shows a helicopter hovering over the bridge where the hiker fell, then a white pickup truck pulls to the ground and carries the injured man to a clearing in the woods.

According to the video, a Coast Guard crew member is lowered to the ground with a stretcher, and then the hiker is dragged into a vehicle with the man.
The injured man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Del Norte County Airport in Crescent City, Calif., for treatment.
The extent and condition of the hiker's injuries was not immediately known.
