video shows Georgia Chick-fila-A employee fight off gun-wielding burglar

Last month, a brave Chick-fil-A employee in Georgia risked his life to heroically thwart an armed robbery. A fascinating video shows the fast-food worker struggling with the suspect for three minutes.

The violent crash happened around 4:30 a.m. on July 1 at a Chick-fil-A in Stone Mountain, Georgia, about 30 minutes northeast of Atlanta.

The worker then choked the suspect and forced him into a back room.

A delivery driver for a Chick-fil-A restaurant was getting ready to go to work when 51-year-old Tommy Lee Williams used a rock to smash through the drive-thru window, police said. Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office records show the suspect told the victim he would die if he didn’t open the safe and pointed a handgun at him, but the employee told police he didn’t know the combination to the safe.

Suddenly, the employee saw an opportunity and went for the gun.

A heated argument ensued, lasting several minutes.

The employee was able to hold the suspect so he could not pull the gun on him. The Chick-fil-A employee also landed several punches and elbows, but the suspect continued to strike the employee with the gun.

During the violent melee, the gun fell to the floor as the two men continued to struggle.

The worker then choked the suspect and forced him into a back room.

The video shows the suspect choking and kicking the employee.

The suspect quickly ran away and retrieved the gun from the ground, after which the two men began fighting over it.

The suspect then fled to the kitchen, which was not visible on security cameras.

Police said Williams fled through a back door of the restaurant and fled before police arrived on scene.

Detectives identified a vehicle that had been seen in the area and linked it to Williams.

Law enforcement officials obtained an arrest warrant for Williams, and U.S. Marshals and Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office officers arrested him Wednesday.

Williams is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, second-degree theft, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and second-degree criminal damage to property.

Williams was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. Bail amount was not immediately posted to online jail records.
