New Mexico State Police released body camera footage of a chase between one of its officers on horseback and a suspected thief fleeing the scene of an alleged robbery.
The incident reportedly happened on March 20 near a Walgreens in Albuquerque. Associated Press. The first video posted was FacebookThe film depicts a police officer on horseback in hot pursuit of a fleeing suspect, Marc Chacon, and attempts to persuade him to surrender for arrest after seeing Chacon confess his innocence.

The suspect ran into the road in an attempt to evade arrest, despite officers repeatedly shouting, “You are in custody.” Chacon was eventually cornered by two more of the officers’ colleagues on horseback and warned that force would be used if they did not comply with instructions.
Eventually, the three forced the man down onto the sidewalk, and one of the officers dismounted and arrested the visibly exhausted man, handcuffing his hands behind his back with little resistance. The 30-year-old man is reportedly suspected of stealing $230 worth of merchandise from a Walgreens home. fox newsJust before nearby mounted police units were alerted to a possible robbery. In addition to shoplifting, he was later charged with evading arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
