An Indiana police officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a 3-year-old autistic boy from drowning in a local pool.

Fort Wayne Police Officer Evan Myers was one of the people who responded to a family's home on Sunday, Sept. 22, in response to a report of a missing 3-year-old child.

The parents of a boy named Asiel told WPTA While preparing brunch for family and friends, one of my friends forgot to close the top latch on the door.

“My friends were like, 'Where's my son?' So I thought he should have been on the couch looking at his tablet,” the boy's father, Alex Calvillo, told local media.
