
A brazen assault on a woman who was visiting her mother in Los Angeles was caught on security video and has angered many.
Juliana Murillo told KTLA-TV. She said she spoke out to help police find her attacker in her hometown of San Fernando.
“I was born and raised in San Fernando,” she said. “I’m a daughter, a sister, a friend, a loved one, and no one I love should go through something like this. It was unexpected. It was just traumatic.”
Murillo said she was delivering a bouquet of roses for her mother’s birthday just before 3pm on Monday when the gunman snuck up from behind and violently pushed her to the ground. She said she hit her face on her mother’s metal exterior door during her fall.
“He pushed me so hard that I hit my head on the door,” she said. “My body went into a state of shock. I couldn’t process what was happening. I kept saying, ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’ He forcefully turned me over, took my wallet and left. ”
Murillo was able to resist the man for a while, but he took her purse and fled in a dark-colored BMW car. Neighbors said they saw him drive away but could not read his license plate.
Murillo said the man was able to steal her car keys, credit cards and identification. According to the victim, she then immediately tried to use her credit card and she was able to access her PayPal account. She received a large bruise on her knee.
SFPD Lt. Walter Dominguez described the suspect as a fair-skinned Hispanic man in his 30s with a thick mustache.he said this san fernando san This means that this type of “robbery” is not increasing in this area.
Murillo offered advice to others who may be the target of such attacks.
“You have to always be on guard,” Murillo said. “I speak for the many women who have been attacked and are afraid. Don’t be afraid. We are a community that can lift each other up and care for each other.”
