Video Shows Woman Assaulting School Bus Driver In Front Of Children, Charged With Aggravated Assault

On April 11, an Arizona woman was caught on video allegedly assaulting a bus driver, FOX News reported.

Hermenegilda Marquez, 27, is charged with aggravated assault after getting into an argument with a school bus driver. She said Marquez was arrested on April 17 on a felony charge of assaulting a school employee. according to On Fox News. The incident began when Marquez boarded a Mesa Public Schools bus and confronted the driver, accusing him of disparaging his daughter.

The Mesa Police Department responded to the scene on W. McKellips Street around 2 p.m. and found the 64-year-old bus driver of ABC 15 with minor injuries. report.surveillance picture Inside the bus, Marquez can be seen angrily talking to the driver, then calling out to the child and resuming his abusive behavior. The situation quickly escalated as Marquez reportedly punched the driver multiple times in front of the children who were on the bus.

Witnesses, including several parents who were at the bus stop, saw Marquez board the bus and become increasingly aggressive, Fox News said. As the confrontation escalated, Marquez grabbed the radio receiver, pulled the cord and demanded that the driver stand off the bus. The driver claimed to have had no previous contact with Marquez and tried to defuse the situation by reaching into the bus radio. The argument culminated when Marquez’s boyfriend intervened and pulled her away from the driver. But as Marquez was being dragged off the bus, she grabbed the driver’s hair, nearly pulling her out of her seat, according to Fox News. After the incident, police conducted further investigation and Marquez was arrested. After reviewing the video evidence, authorities notified Marquez of the felony charges.
