A massive tornado struck the midwestern states of Iowa and Nebraska on Thursday, causing severe damage to some residents, online video showed.
Video footage posted on Twitter showed a huge tornado hitting a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska, and other parts of Iowa, with some residents of the Omaha suburb saying it caused devastating damage to their area. Multiple clips posted online show a massive storm. Photos also showed several areas of homes in rural Nebraska completely damaged and torn apart.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued various daily warnings for multiple areas of Nebraska and Iowa as tornadoes were seen moving through the Midwest. In Nebraska, most of the damage reportedly hit the Elkhorn area of Omaha, where an estimated 10,000 customers were without power, according to a report from the city’s public power district. according to To the Associated Press.

“We have received 911 calls of people inside the debris in the basement,” Lt. Neil Bonacci of Omaha authorities told AP News. “We’re just working as quickly as possible to help everyone in need.”
So far, two injuries have been reported in Lancaster County, Nebraska, and both were sent to the trauma center at Bryan Medical Center West Campus in Lincoln, the newspaper reported.
