Vikings eye NFC North title as they outlast Packers behind Sam Darnold’s 3 touchdowns

The Minnesota Vikings maintained their nine-game winning streak with a 27-25 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

The Vikings need to beat the Detroit Lions next week to clinch the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, which gives them home-field advantage in the postseason.

Sam Darnold completed three touchdown passes in the win. He completed 33-of-43 attempts for 377 passing yards. He recorded one interception and one sack. The three touchdowns were scored by three different wide receivers: Jalen Naylor, Jordan Addison and Cam Akers.

Darnold's 9-yard touchdown pass to Akers gave the Vikings a 17-point lead and nearly knocked the Packers out of the game entirely. Jones led the Vikings with 47 yards.

Justin Jefferson had eight catches for 92 yards. One great catch was denied for a penalty. He averaged 11.5 yards per catch.

Naylor had five catches for 81 yards.

Jordan Love and company pushed hard to keep the Packers in the game in the final spot.

Emmanuel Wilson scored on a 5-yard run with 6:12 left in the fourth quarter. Love and Romeo Doubes converted the two-point conversion. On the next drive, Love found Malik Hess for a 3-yard touchdown pass. It was a two-point game with 2 minutes and 18 seconds left.

Green Bay was unable to stop Minnesota's offense in the final moments.

Love completed 19 of 30 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown. Josh Jacobs also added a touchdown on the ground. He recorded 69 rushing yards.

All eyes will be on next week's game between the Vikings and Lions. Minnesota lost to Detroit 31-29 earlier this year.
