The Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Rondale Moore is set to miss the entirety of the 2025 season due to a significant left knee injury. This situation is particularly tough for him, especially since he sat out the entire 2024 season after a right knee injury during preseason practice with the Atlanta Falcons.
While specifics about the latest injury haven’t been disclosed, it’s clear he won’t participate in NFL games anytime soon. Moore suffered this latest setback during a preseason match against the Houston Texans. A trainer quickly attended to him on the field, and it seems the severity of the issue was palpable. He appeared frustrated, sitting behind a cart, I think, which really highlights the overwhelming nature of such injuries.
Before this injury, Moore hadn’t played in an NFL game since the final week of the 2023 season, where he was part of the Arizona Cardinals. At the Vikings’ training camp, he was vying for a roster position among a competitive group of wide receivers, including notable names like Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
Moore, who previously excelled at Purdue, was selected by the Cardinals as their second pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Over three seasons, he accumulated 1,201 yards and has three touchdowns to his name—one each season, which feels a bit underwhelming given the circumstances.
He was traded to the Vikings in March 2024, in a deal that involved quarterback Desmond Ridder, yet things took a turn for the worse when he injured his right knee a few months later. Just when it appeared he might be on the mend, this latest blow will definitely challenge his resolve going forward.
Earlier this year, Moore signed a one-year contract with the Vikings worth $2 million, hoping to make a mark this season. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting to see how he recovers from this latest setback.
