Victor Gyoker, the Swedish football player, is seemingly navigating two significant departures.
The Sporting CP forward, who has caught the eye of clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United, reportedly has ended his relationship with Portuguese girlfriend Ines Aguiar while also considering a move from his current team.
“Viktor is trying to distance himself from Portugal, particularly since he’s decided not to continue playing next season,” sources recently reported on TV Guia in Portugal.
The breakup rumors gained traction after Aguiar was absent from the wedding of Gyoker’s teammate Morten Holmand—a detail that made people wonder if things were over between them.
Aguiar is, or was, friends with Hjulmand’s bride, Emilie Sofie Nissen, which might have played a part in their social dynamics.
From what I’ve gathered, Gyoker headed off to Mykonos while Aguiar was spotted in Formentera, which adds to the feeling that they’re going their separate ways.
Gyoker has been pretty much in the Premier League spotlight all summer, having netted 97 goals in two seasons.
Last month, Sporting’s president, Frederico Barandas, mentioned that they hadn’t received any offers for Gyoker, whose release clause sits at about $115.5 million, stretching until 2028.
There’s been some back-and-forth over his release clause, and Gyoker commented on social media, saying, “There’s a lot of chatter right now. Much of it isn’t accurate. I’ll speak when it’s appropriate.”
Barandas also hinted at the likelihood of Gyoker departing the club, stating, “If asked today, I would say there’s a strong chance he will leave.”
Gyoker joined Sporting CP in 2023 after three seasons with Coventry City, tallying an impressive 39 goals and nine assists in the 2024-25 season.
